- Our Mission: To organize all departments of labor engaged in the construction industry either in repair, alteration or demolition, into one compact body known as the Houston Gulf Coast Building and Construction Trades Council.
- We also encourage and maintain fraternal relationships with existing, recognized central bodies. We also see to it that there is an equitable adjustment of all disciplines between employers and employed.
- Our Specialty: Houston Gulf Coast Building and Construction Trades Council has the safest most skilled and qualified construction force available in the entire city as well as the surrounding area. We are equally committed to our members, contractors and our clients. This is not just a one sided commitment. It is our loyalty that keeps them from leaving us.

Houston Gulf Coast Building and Construction Trades Council was set up in August 18, 1969 by the Building Construction Constructions Trade Department which is a department of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO).
